RosemaryandGrace: I am Sarah Grace, I love to cook and create in the kitchen. I believe food is a central theme in bringing people together and serving others. Hospitality is important to me in making others feel at home. I hope to inspire a love for sharing time and meals with others. I also hope to share recipes, fun finds, creative projects, and gardening tips.

Why Blog Tho?

Hospitality and etiquette go hand and hand. My mom used to teach me that etiquette was less about proper manners and more about how you treat people and make them feel around you. Whenever I think of the word hospitality, I think of home. I want my family, friends, and any guests to feel comfortable and welcome whenever they cross my doorstep.

I was born in Alabama, raised in Florida, and was a part of a large Italian family. I grew up being surrounded by a love for food with both my parents always watching The Food Network (the OG beginning days of food TV), my dad catering, my mom making wedding cakes, and there was always people over for dinner. Food was and is a central theme to me. If you were sick, here’s some soup. If you needed to relax, here’s a cocktail. If family was coming over, you’d throw out a couple of anti-pasta trays. If friends were coming over, then snacks and a fun dessert. Sunday dinner meant a big pot of sauce on the stove and bubbly meatballs in the oven. To this day, if you tell me you’re coming over, then you better bet your bottom dollar that there will at least be a minor charcuterie plate or a cold iced coffee.

Food brings people together, it gets my kids talking around the dinner table, it’s a safe space, and it’s even a peace offering, or a place of common ground. Everyone eats and everyone has a food item that makes them feel like home. Something I really desire, as my kids grow older, is that our house is always base. That their friends are welcome with open arms and it’s a safe haven. I want them to love on others and see it take place in our home first. Our example and lifestyle can drastically shape their view on life.

There are a lot of things I am learning, praying, and working on. My goal for this food and lifestyle blog is not to boast about new, fancy, or healthy recipes...but to hopefully encourage others, like yourself, to share food with loved ones and those who need your love. I’m not sure why food isn’t apart of the love language list, but it certainly should be.
