Smoky BBQ Spice Rub

  I'm a huge fan of mixing your own spices and creating more flavorful blends than ones you would find in a general packet. I believe that mixing them yourself allows for a fresher flavor as well as a tailored blend to what you're specifically cooking. I use this particular spice blend for BBQ as well as roasted pork, grilled pork, and pan seared pork. I've also used it on chicken as well and it's equally delicious. It's pretty simple and straight forward. Just mix all the spices together in a bowl and store in an air tight container for up to 3 months for fresh blends. Recipe below. 

Ingredients Needed:

  1. 2 T sea salt (not fine)
  2. 1 T garlic powder
  3. 1 T onion powder
  4. 1 T smokey paprika 
  5. 1 T chili powder
  6. 1 tsp black pepper
  7. 2 tsp cinnamon
  8. *Optional 1 tsp chipotle
