Serrano Peach Spritz With Rum

Only a few ingredients, a shaker, and a happy dance later then you've got yourself a perfect summer cocktail. It's sweet and spicy with a shining fresh peach flavor. It really is very refreshing to boot. I like to enjoy mine, next to my hubby, in the pool, on an American flag float.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz of white rum (I like Naked Turtle Rum because they give back to sea turtle conservation, each bottle saves a sea turtle hatchling).
  • 3/4 cup seltzer water
  • half squeezed lime
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 chopped ripe peach plus a couple extra slices for a garnish
  • About a T of chopped Serrano peppers plus a couple slices for garnishing
  • 1 T simple syrup or 1 T raw honey

Directions:

  1. In the bottom of a shaker muddle (smash) up the T of peppers, 1/4 tsp sea salt, and the peach pieces.
  2. Add the squeezed lime to the shaker with the peach and peppers.
  3. Add the simple syrup and rum to the shaker and lightly stir.
  4. Shake the ingredients in the shaker for about 1 minute total.
  5. Pour shaker juice in a cup, over ice.
  6. Add in the seltzer water and give a little stir.
  7. Garnish with 2 thin slices of peach and a couple slices of Serrano peppers.
  8. Relax and Enjoy! More tips on the bottom.

*Don't fret if you don't have a shaker, you can use a clean jar with a tight fitting lid and shake what your mamma gave you with it.
*Also, this can be made without alcohol for a refreshing drink. Just add in a little more peach and lime.
*You can also adjust the heat on the drink based on how many peppers you add into it.
