These chicken legs are one of my daughter's favorites. The flavor is smokey and sweet. Hope you like them too! *Serves 4
Ingredients:
•8 chicken legs,
•2 cups of your favorite BBQ sauce, we like Stubbs Original.
•1/2 red onion
•1tsp of dried ground smoked chipotle (can substitute with smoked paprika),
•1T Kosher salt,
•1 tsp ground black pepper.
•2T brown sugar or honey.
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°
-Mix BBQ sauce with brown sugar and chipotle.
-Sprinkle chicken legs with salt and pepper (I’ve found that the chicken is juicier and more flavorful if I sprinkle the legs with a little bit of salt a couple hours ahead of time...ifffff I remember).
-Sprinkle the bottom of baking pan with olive oil, place chicken legs staggered around pan.
-Cover chicken with 1/2 sauce mixture on all sides lightly.
-Bake legs for 25 minutes.
-Take chicken out of oven and flip over each leg, then re-apply more sauce.
-Bake for another 20-25 minutes till the center reaches 185° or all juices run clear.
-Rest for 5 minutes and enjoy!
I love to eat these with baked fries and Brussels, but they go great with almost any side.
