I really enjoy having a couple of fresh breakfasts each week. They just center my mornings and point me in the right direction for the day. I won't go into it, but I'm sure you've heard how important breakfast is. During school weeks (we home school over here) I like to get started with school as soon as we can. Our mornings are busy and tiring. Between getting the kids up, dressed, washed, following up to make sure they've made their beds, taking care of the pets, and then the occasional (this is me being extra gracious) meltdown over matching socks, delicious breakfasts are difficult. This toast recipe takes me 5 minutes and is just so filling and perfect. My kids will eat it too which is a huge plus! Hope it's simple and delicious for you as well.
Recipe:
- 1 slice of whole grain bread,
- 1 T All Natural, No Sugar Added, Peanut Butter, *Any nut butter would work
- About 3 strawberries thinly sliced,
- 1 Tsp raw honey,
- Chopped roasted peanuts or sunflower seeds for topping.
Directions:
- Toast your slice of bread in a toaster to your desired shade of toasty-ness,
- Evenly spread with peanut butter,
- Line toast with cut strawberries and feel free to be creative with the design *Hint: strawberry heart shapes are great for Valentines Day and Anniversaries <3
- Sprinkle the nuts or seeds on top of strawberries. A light or heavy sprinkle is up to you!
- Lastly, drizzle the whole toast and toppings with the honey. It not only makes your toast shine #glowup but, also helps bind it all together.
